This series was launched in 1984 and initially designed for osteotomies and reconstructive surgery in the face. The system also proved to work for fracture treatment.Over the years the system has been extended but the basics did not change. The screwheads had some adjustments in 2010.
It is an intuitive, efficient, user-friendly, multipurpose set.
Most surgeons use the 1mm blue anodized plates (e.g B.802, B.803, B.804) with the low profile selfdrilling screws (S2004, S2005, S2006). The bone plates have appropriate contours and the screws are sunk into the plate’s profile (1mm) ❶.
Some surgeons prefer the 0.6mm mesh plates (A.102, A.103, A.104 with screws S2004, S2005, S2006) for the upper jaw and genioplasty fixation. They provide slightly more freedom.
For sagittal-split osteotomy, most surgeons prefer the use of a screw fixation with the C23 series screws (C2308, C2310, C2312, C2314) ❷. Some surgeons prefer blue plate (B822, B823, B823, B824) fixation with selfdrilling or selftapping screws (S20005, C2005).
For genioplasty, screw fixation is the simplest method by far whenever possible (C2314, C2316, C2318). ❸.
For setback or extrusion genioplasty, the plates or meshes do extremely well, leaving room for a certain degree of final setting. Two bone plates B.802, B.803, B.804 can be used with selfdrilling or selftapping screws (S2005 – C2005) or 2 meshes A.103, A.104 can be used also with seldrilling or selftapping screws (S2005 – C2005).
